Arab Shipbuilding & Repair Yard

Bahrain-based Arab Shipbuilding & Repair Yard (ASRY) is one of the world's leading shiprepairers and is now in its fourth decade of operation. Since starting life as a super tanker repairer, the yard has now developed into a truly versatile shiprepair and maintenance provider for all types of ships, both commercial and naval, as well as rigs specialist vessels from the offshore oil and gas markets.

ASRY offers customers some of the most modern drydocking and repair facilities in the world, including a 500,000dwt capacity graving dock, two totally modernised floating docks with lifting capacities of 30,000 tonnes and 33,000 tonnes respectively, and two of largest slipways in the Arabian Gulf region, each with a dry berth length of 255m.

The General Organisation of Sea Ports - Bahrain (GOP) was established in 2006 with the aim of developing the Kingdom of Bahrain's maritime industry and infrastructure and regulate its operation in-line with the Kingdom's Economic Vision 2030 development strategy.

The semi-government agency's overarching responsibility lies in guiding the development of strategies to position Bahrain as a global leader in the maritime industry, in terms of ports, logistics and Ships' Registry. In order to meet this goal, the GOP works to ensure proper legislation is in place to regulate the industry whilst adhering to international maritime standards and conventions.

General National Maritime Transport Company (GNMTC) Libya

General National Maritime Transport Company (GNMTC) is a Libyan state owned company founded in 1975 with its current capitalisation of one billion USD. GNMTC trades worldwide through its presence of a high quality modern tanker fleet. The fleet consists of 24 vessels with an average age of just over three years which is considered one of the youngest fleets in the Mediterranean. The fleet range from small LPG and handy size, MR product carriers to aframax and suezmax crude oil carriers with solid plans to expand.
