How to Enter

Who Can Enter

Entries are open to any individual or firm within the shipping industry and are sought from around the world. Where appropriate, entries can be made in more than one category, Lloyd's List encourages this. Individuals and companies can enter themselves.

How To Enter

Select the category or categories that you wish to enter and use the category criteria and explain in 500 words or less, why you or your company should win a Lloyd’s List Global Award 2012.

You should submit your entry via our simple step by step online entry service


The entry service will go live in late March.

Nominations

Nominations may also come from third parties (individuals or companies) who feel a particular company or person should be considered for an award. In this instance please provide contact details (email, telephone, name and company name) for the relevant company or individual and Lloyd's List will endeavour to contact them to submit an entry. Lloyd’s List cannot be held responsible for any nominated company that does not supply an entry once contacted.

The Rules

  • All entries must be written in English.
  • All entries must be no longer than 500 words (entries above this work limit may be disqualified).
  • All entries must be accompanied by a 50 word synopsis of the entry as you would like it to appear on all publicity material.
  • All entries must be submitted via our online entry service.
  • All entries will be treated as confidential but Lloyd's List reserves the right to publish positive extracts from winning entries.
  • All entries must be based on activities undertaken from April 2010 to June 2011.

How Do The Judges Select The Global Awards Winners?

The Lloyd’s List Global Awards 2012 is independently judged. Once entries have been received and processed they will be distributed to the relevant judges. The judges will use the published criteria to score each entry accurately. In early July the judges will convene to discuss all the entries together, before making the final scores and collectively deciding upon the winners.

The judging panel comprises of independent, senior industry experts from around the world, chosen for their knowledge, objectivity and credibility. Judges mark entries in categories relevant to their specialist knowledge, expertise and experience, ensuring a considered, educated response to your submission.

The chair of the judging panel reserves the right to cast any deciding vote, should the need arise. The judges’ decision is final. See Judging Panel here

All companies/individuals short listed will be notified directly by Lloyd’s List before the end of July. Short listed companies/individuals will also be announced in the paper and on www.lloydslist.com
