As general manager, Captain Colin Crookshank, joined the Saqr Port Authority in August 2009. He came to the port from the UK where he was the harbour master and deputy CEO of Shoreham Port. He is a Master Mariner serving in the merchant marine, and has over 35 years experience in the areas of deep sea shipping, dredging, port and marine operations, pilotage and port management. Initially a pilot at Shoreham Port, then Deputy Harbour Master, before becoming Harbour Master in 2000. As the general manager he now oversees all RAK Ports - Saqr Port, RAK Maritime City, Al Jazeera Port, Al Jeer Port and RAK Al Khor Port.
Kevin J. Hudson is Managing Director of Maritime Industrial Services (MIS) and has served on its Board since 2009. With extensive experience in managing company growth, optimising business performance and strategic management, Hudson led the MIS Group on an aggressive growth strategy since joining in 2008, bringing focus and developing its operations. Hudson’s career spans 35 years in the shipbuilding industry. Prior to MIS, he was CEO of Irving Shipbuilding Inc. (ISI) and Fleetaway Ltd. (J.D. Irving, Canada) where he led an operation of 6 yards and 3000 employees operating in ship construction and repair; rig refurbishment and naval repair. His strong technical foundation is complemented with excellent leadership skills and an ability to take on and handle new challenges.
Charles Menkhorst assumed the post of CEO for the Africa, Middle East and Indian subcontinet region in April of 2009. He came to APM Terminals from the DHL (Deutsche Post Worldnet) organisation with whom he had worked for over 15 years, including as Senior Vice President of Regional Services for DHL Exel Supply Chain, in Belgium; Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for DHL Solutions, in Germany; and Vice President of Global Logistics for DHL Global Customer Logistics (GCL), in the USA. Originally from The Netherlands, Mr. Menkhorst holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Marketing from the Haarlem Business School,and a Masters Degree in Economics and Finance from Nijenrode University.
Mohammed Al Muallem, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Portland, Oregon, U.S.A. and has completed extensive training in U.K. at the University of Manchester, Cranfi eld College and British Airways; obtaining qualifi cations in Cost & Budgetary Control, Planning Maintenance and Computer Systems and Condition Based Maintenance. He has also completed several vocational courses to date. Mr. Muallem joined Port Rashid in 1983 as a Trainee and has held several management positions which he followed through with effi cient and diligent service. In September 2005 DPA and DPI Terminals merged to form DP World, Mr. Muallem was then appointed as Senior Vice President & Managing Director of DP World’s UAE region.
Chris Potter has been with the Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard for 18 years and has been Chief Executive since 2007. Prior to being appointed Chief Executive, he held the position of Production General Manager for ten years. His career has been spent in the shiprepair industry and has worked for major organisations in the United Kingdom, Europe, Singapore and the Middle East. An engineer by profession he holds a MBA in Management Consultancy from Sheffi eld Hallam University. With his own unique style of management he is committed to guiding ASRY forward to secure its position as a world leader in the repair and maintenance of ships and oil rigs.
Shashi Kiran Shetty presides over India’s fi rst multinational in the logistics sector, Allcargo Global Logistics Limited as its Chairman and Managing Director. In 1993, Allcargo took its fi rst steps into the freight forwarding business as a private limited company. Since then, Allcargo has expanded its business to port related infrastructure and has built container freight stations in Mumbai, Chennai, Mundra, Indore and New Delhi. Today, Allcargo is well known as India’s fi rst multinational company in the logistics sector and the second largest LCL consolidator in the world. He has served on the Board of Mumbai Port Trust and also was the Co-Chairman of the Transport and Logistics Committee of The Indian Merchant Chambers as well as a previous role as the Vice President of Association of Multimodal Transport Operators of India.
Mohammad Souri has been Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of National Iranian Tanker Company since 1984. He also holds the positions of Member of the Board of Steamship Mutual Underwriting Owners Association and Chairman of Arya Shipping Company. Mr Souri has published numerous articles mainly to give new ways for improvement of shipping industry of Iran and also presenting new insights on the international Oil and Gas transportation. He is also the author of “Endeavor for Tomorrow”. Mr Souri has also held the positions of Member of the Board of National Iranian Oil Company (1984-1999) Chairman and Managing Director of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Line (1981-1985) and Deputy commerce Minister (1979-1980)
