Arab Shipbuilding & Repair Yard

Bahrain-based Arab Shipbuilding & Repair Yard (ASRY) is one of the world's leading shiprepairers and is now in its fourth decade of operation. Since starting life as a super tanker repairer, the yard has now developed into a truly versatile shiprepair and maintenance provider for all types of ships, both commercial and naval, as well as rigs specialist vessels from the offshore oil and gas markets.

The General Organisation of Sea Ports - Bahrain (GOP) was established in 2006 with the aim of developing the Kingdom of Bahrain's maritime industry and infrastructure and regulate its operation in-line with the Kingdom's Economic Vision 2030 development strategy.

The semi-government agency's overarching responsibility lies in guiding the development of strategies to position Bahrain as a global leader in the maritime industry, in terms of ports, logistics and Ships' Registry. In order to meet this goal, the GOP works to ensure proper legislation is in place to regulate the industry whilst adhering to international maritime standards and conventions.

Drydocks World - Dubai is the largest shipyard in the Middle East and has been operating from 1983. The shipyard has ship repair, conversion and new building as its core business areas. It receives over 350 vessels for repair annually, on an average. The yard is rapidly gaining prominence in the vessel conversions market, because of its success with previous FSO/FPSO conversion projects. The first truly offshore FSRU conversion is a prestigious ongoing project. The shipyard boasts of a modern new building facility that is capable of building sophisticated vessels - a series of seismic vessels are a case in point.
